Here are the latest details, including pictures, of BMW’s new X5, seven years after the original was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1999.
The new model comes with a choice of three engines. BMW excpects the biggest seller in the UK to be the 3.0-litre diesel. Customers can also choose from a 3.0-litre petrol or a 4.8-litre petrol.
Standard equipment includes a faster-shifting six-speed automatic transmission, head-up display, which shows speed, navigation and control messages into the line of sight of the driver and run-flat tyres. A third row of seats and a rear parking camera are available as options.
Prices for the new BMW X5 and more details will be revealed nearer to the spring 2007 UK launch date.
*Models without Dynamic Package have a top speed of 130mph.
