Ness Motors has acquired Inveralmond Motors’ Renault franchise at Perth. The family run group bought the business from Cameron Motors for an undisclosed sum.

“We’re absolutely delighted,” says Chris Rankin, director of branches at Ness Motors. “We’ve been with the Renault franchise for 36 years now and they put us up as the preferred partner for the site. This is a great opportunity for us.”

Inveralmond Motors sold the dealership in order to downsize following the retirement of one of its directors. All 31 members of its staff have been retained by Ness Motors.

Current turnover at the dealership is £10.3m. The group hopes to build on this with increased sales in the car, parts and workshop sectors.

Looking to the future, Rankin says: “We’re leasing the premises for five years but once the lease is up we’re planning on relocating to a bigger outlet.

“We have no idea where that’ll be yet, we’re just in the door here.”
