Classic Car Mechanic
Location - Potters Bar
Exciting opportunity to join one of the most extensive, privately owned classic vehicle collections in the UK. The business is now divided into two buildings, it is a museum, a secure vehicle storage facility, a classic vehicle hire company, a film and photographic studio centre and a unique event venue. My client is seeking a mechanic to play a pivotal role in maintaining the company's reputation for excellence in the restoration and maintenance of classic and luxury vehicles.
Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining classic, vintage, and luxury vehicles.
Experience with electrical systems, bodywork, painting, and parts fabrication specific to classic cars.
Ability to perform restorations to a high standard, including sourcing or fabricating rare or obsolete part
Excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues efficiently
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high quality workmanship
Strong manual dexterity and proficiency with specialized tools and equipment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effectively interacting with clients and team members
Excellent customer service skills to explain technical issues and work performed to clients.
High level of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
Adherence to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Knowledge of safe handling procedures for classic and high value cars.
Positive references from previous employers, particularly in the automotive and classic car restoration industry.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience working with classic and vintage cars
Previous work with high end luxury cars is highly desirable
Proven track record of successful restorations and repairs on classic car
NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or an equivalent qualification
Specialized training or certifications in classic car restoration and maintenance are advantageous
Valid UK driving license, preferably with experience driving classic cars.
A clean and verifiable background check.
