I'm starting to get really tired of the constant trudging of the economic slump that is splashed across the media each day (ironic seeing as i'm part of that).
I just want something positive to be reported (apparently Domino Pizza sales are through the roof, i'm probably partly responsible for that too).
It's got to the point now where as a reader, I’m getting really tired of it. But unfortunately that doesn't stop it from being important, especially to businesses.
AM’s editor Stephen Briers is at the Paris Motor Show this week and has spoken to several manufacturers about how their September sales have gone.
September registrations were at 420,000 in 2007 and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders are expecting that number to drop to 390,000.
However, AM has heard that the figure is more likely to be nearer 320,000, much worse than was expected. This was reflected in a recent AM poll which saw 86% of voters say their September figures were down in comparison to the same month last year.
Stay tuned on AM-online’s news page for a story on the all important plate-change month later this afternoon.
